A park at the top of Maizuruyama, home to about 2,000 cherry trees including Somei-yoshino. Many were planted by visionaries who dreamed of making Maizuruyama a mountain of cherry blossoms — the earliest planting record dates back to 1902. On the western slope of the hilltop is an ancient Edobigan cherry tree approximately 400 years old. Barbecues are available while viewing the cherry blossoms (reservation required; contact Tendo City Construction Division: 023-654-1111).
