Hirose Park has the former residence and garden of Saihei Hirose, who fostered Japan's modern industry through the modernization of Besshi Copper Mine and laid the foundation for the Sumitomo Group and industrial city of Niihama. It received designation as a scenic spot from Ehime Prefecture in 1968 and from the national government in 2018 (designation name: Former Hirose Family Garden). About 120 Yoshino cherry trees are planted in the park, and in spring they all bloom in unison. The cherry blossoms blooming around the turtle pond show emotional expressions reflected on the water and dancing cherry petals.
