Shiratani Unsuikyo is famous for Taiko Rock, a huge granite boulder at its deepest point. Taiko Rock is located about 2.8 km from the Shiratani entrance at an altitude of 1,050 m, offering different views depending on the season. In spring, in particular, a beautiful natural carpet of pink mountain cherry blossoms, yellowish-green fresh greenery, and green cedar trees spreads out. It takes about 2 hours one way from the management building. The path from Tsuji Pass is one-way, so follow the signs.
