The Kurogi Grand Wisteria, over 630 years old and designated as a National Natural Monument, sprawls over an approximately 3,000 square meter wisteria trellis in the grounds of Susanoo Shrine. A wisteria festival is held to coincide with the peak bloom. During the period, a product fair with more than 20 food stalls selling Kurogi specialties and gourmet food is held, along with free green tea service where you can taste Yame tea. Night illuminations timed to the wisteria's blooming and illuminations of Japanese umbrellas and bamboo lanterns on April 18 (Saturday) are also held.
