Displays Taisho-era hina dolls passed down in the Tanaka Honke family. Taisho-era hina decorations included not only the standard hina dolls still displayed today, such as the dairi-bina, three court ladies, and five musicians, but also dolls representing scenes from plays such as Hanasaka Jiisan, Shizuka Gozen, and Kanjincho (Yoshitsune, Benkei). These dolls were mainly based on kabuki, and at Tanaka Honke they were called 'theatrical dolls.' Enjoy the gorgeous Hina Matsuri of Tanaka Honke while feeling the thoughts of our predecessors embedded in the hina decorations.
