Mochio Park, Southern Kyushu's leading cherry blossom spot with a long history, has been selected as one of 'Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots.' About 2,600 cherry trees including Yoshino, mountain, and double cherry blossoms are planted in the park. Usually from late March to early April, it bustles with many cherry blossom visitors, and besides cherry blossoms, azaleas can also be enjoyed. From late March to early April, 2026 (according to the blooming period), the '76th Miyakonojo Mochio Cherry Blossom Festival' will be held. Food stalls, illumination (sunset to 21:00), and more will be conducted. The main events will be held on March 28 (Sat) and 29 (Sun) over 2 days.
