The whole area of a small hill northeast of Akitsu Station is Shofukujiyama Park. A scenic park with a panoramic view of the calm Seto Inland Sea, on clear days you can also see the mountains of Shikoku. Known as a cherry blossom spot where about 1,000 Yoshino cherries bloom, during the cherry blossom blooming period it bustles with many hanami visitors. At night, paper lanterns are also lit.
