The Kirito River, which cuts across the central area of Kudamatsu City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, from northeast to southwest and flows into the Seto Inland Sea, is bordered along both banks by about 100 Yoshino cherry trees in spring. Every year, the cherry blossoms are best viewed from late March to mid-April, and the broad riverbed bustles with people enjoying hanami. It is the city's premier hanami spot.
