Ishikawa Prefecture once had five lagoons, but Kibagata is the only one that remains in its natural state. Kibagata Park was developed to preserve that exceptional nature while harmonizing with the surrounding rural landscape. In spring, about 1,700 cherry trees including Somei Yoshino, Oshima cherries, and weeping cherries planted in the park reach their peak. A cherry blossom tunnel continues from the central area to the north area, and the western pathway is an excellent photo spot offering views of the lake surface, cherries, and Mt. Hakusan.
