Passing through the cherry tree avenue of the temple grounds, 'Sakurado Hyotanzakura' blooms gloriously on a hill about 400m above sea level. It is said to have gotten this name because the shape of the buds resembles a gourd (hyotan). From late March to early April annually, you can see this beautifully magnificent single cherry tree.
