Opened in 1902 as the first park in Shiga Prefecture, it has gathered many people. Within the park are the Nagara Creative Exhibition Hall (Mitsuhashi Setsuko Museum) embraced in lush greenery and poem monuments of predecessors who tell the history of Otsu (poem monument of Taira no Tadanori), making it a precious natural forest adjacent to the urban area.
