A festival held at Hida Ichinomiya Minashi Shrine to pray for the prosperity of sericulture and agriculture and for the happiness of women. The highlight is the Living Hina Procession, where 9 unmarried women selected from all over Hida wear Heian period costumes such as Odairisama (emperor doll), Ohina sama (empress doll), and court ladies, and parade through the town accompanied by chigo (sacred children). After the ritual, 'mochi-throwing' by the hina-sama and a photo session are also held, making it a very popular festival.
