Also called Baryo Castle, Nakamura Castle was the main castle of the Soma clan for 260 years and the center of domain politics. In April, hundreds of cherry trees bloom in full glory; in May, wisteria trellises and azaleas; in autumn, colorful foliage. Birdsong fills the walking paths, and you can enjoy seasonal scenery throughout the year. In summer, it becomes the stage for the 'Soma Nomaoi,' a tradition spanning over 1,000 years, drawing many tourists from inside and outside the prefecture.
