A park developed as a cherry blossom spot after planting Yoshino cherry seedlings sent by Makino Tomitaro, a botanist from Sakawa Town. Various cherry varieties bloom in profusion, including the Oshima cherry named by Dr. Makino, Kawazu cherry, Usuzumi cherry, and Yamazakura. Additionally, about 400 species of mountain plants and many trees including azaleas, all connected to Dr. Makino, are planted to welcome visitors. Dr. Makino's grave is located on the mountainside, allowing visitors to remember Sakawa Town's great figure.
