The exhibition, which was first held at the National Museum of Nature and Science in Tokyo with birds as its theme, will be held in Osaka. Based on the latest phylogenetic classification revealed by genome analysis research, the exhibition introduces the unique body structures and ecology of birds and explains their various evolutions. More than 400 bird specimens from around the world will be displayed, and a life-size restoration model of Pelagornis sandersi, one of the largest flying birds ever, will be shown in Japan for the first time. As a limited exhibition for the Osaka venue, the current state and future of Osaka Bay, an important breeding ground for waterbirds, will also be explained, allowing both children and adults to learn everything about birds in a fun way.
