Isobe Inamura Shrine has a legend that during the reign of Emperor Keiko, a divided spirit for the peace of the eastern lands was enshrined here. Many wild cherry trees can be seen along the approach and on the slopes of the hill where the shrine is enshrined, and it is famous as a cherry blossom spot. These wild cherry trees are white mountain cherries native to the Tohoku region, and not only the pale pink flowers but also the red buds at the time of budding are magnificent, making them academically valuable. It is the sacred ground of the Noh play Sakuragawa and a shrine deeply connected to the Cherry Trees of Sakuragawa.
