About 200 Somei Yoshino cherry trees over 50 years old bloom throughout Aikawa Waterfront Park, and about 300 carp streamers swim above the Aikawa River flowing alongside (late March to early May). The sight of colorful carp streamers soaring over the Aikawa River against Mount Ibuki, watched over by cherry blossoms in full bloom, is spectacular. The cherry blossoms are at their best from mid to late March, usually putting on a magnificent display.
