The ruins of Katsuyama Castle, which flourished from the late Sengoku to early modern period, are located on a small hill called Shiroyama. At the summit of Shiroyama (the main keep ruins), there is now a small shrine of Toshogu. Every year from early to mid-April, 200 Yoshino cherry trees bloom from the mid-slope to the summit of Shiroyama, coloring it as if wearing a pink hat. Going near the summit, Mt. Fuji can be seen in the distance through the cherry blossoms, allowing enjoyment of a picture-perfect landscape.
