Copy sutras such as the Heart Sutra and Yakushi Sutra by tracing lightly printed characters with a brush pen. Your own handwriting is perfectly fine. 'Shabutsu' (Buddha tracing) is also available — use colored pencils to color line drawings of Buddhist figures. Empty your mind and purify your heart. Those wishing to participate should make a reservation by the day before. A monk will explain and sit with you throughout. Time required for sutra copying varies by individual, but about one hour is the guideline. Tea will be shared together at the end.
