During the Funakawa River improvement work in 1957, about 280 Somei Yoshino cherry trees were planted by local residents along 1,200m on both banks of the embankment, and they are still carefully maintained today. The lone tulip bulb cultivation farm 'wanted to meet many people', so they chose extra-early varieties to coincide with the cherry blossoms and also planted rape blossoms. The scenery of the cherry blossom row, tulips, and rape blossoms playing a quartet against the backdrop of snow-capped Mt. Asahi, with the voices of skylarks resonating, is a magnificent view of spring at its peak.
