The 'Tsugi no Hi Festival,' which has been passed down for about 650 years following in the tradition of Kyoto's Aoi Matsuri, features the 'Umbrella Float Dedication' on the 21st as its highlight. Parishioners parade a massive umbrella float about 4 meters in diameter hung with strips of paper in five colors through the street in front of the shrine. At night, a kagura performance and rice-planting festival music are held, drawing large crowds.
