The 'hanayome noren' is a bridal curtain hung in the Buddhist altar room of the groom's family on the wedding day. This exhibition displays over 130 such bridal noren curtains inside merchant houses and private residences along Ipponsugi-dori Street. The hanayome noren is a unique curtain born from the folk customs of Kaga and Noto, dating from the late Edo to early Meiji period, seen in the Noto, Kaga, and Etchu regions of the Kaga domain. This year, a bridal procession will also take place on the first day, April 29 (Wed, holiday). These curtains, woven through tradition and wishes for the bride's happiness, will add splendor to the town.
