Goshonotai Fureai Park, spread across the hillside in Happo Town, Yamamoto District, Akita Prefecture, is a famous cherry blossom spot with a panoramic view of the Sea of Japan. Located right in front of 'Akita Shirakami Station,' a stop on the Resort Shirakami train, it is also popular as a drive spot along National Route 101. Approximately 800 trees, mainly Somei Yoshino, are planted in the park, and when in full bloom, a gorgeous scenery unfolds against the backdrop of sea and sky, drawing many tourists.
