Hama no Miya Beach in Chikujo Town, Chikujo District, Fukuoka Prefecture is a popular clam digging spot in the Kitakyushu area. A nature-rich shallow beach with black pine forest spreading behind, you can enjoy clam digging from April 1 (Wed) to May 6 (compensation holiday) in 2026. The 'Shida no Asari' (clams) harvested at this beach are known for being thick, sweet, and delicious. Optimal time for clam digging changes with the tide, so check the tide chart and aim for the period 2 hours before and after low tide on days when the tide level is 100 cm or less. Since events may be cancelled depending on weather and tide levels, it's good to confirm in advance before visiting.
