旭川の一大イベントが7月30日(木)～8月1日(土)の3日間開催。初日は「開会式」・「道新納涼花火大会」、2日目には観光旭川音頭に合わせて踊り歩く「市民舞踊パレード」や最終日には、荘厳さと重量感ある神輿が練行する「大雪連合神輿」や、山車や踊り隊が練り歩く「烈夏七夕まつり」を開催。さんろく界隈では3日間「大雪さんろくまつり」も開催され旭川の短い夏を大いに盛り上げる。
