An exhibition focusing on 'white,' an indispensable element in painting. It showcases Western paintings by Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and others; Japanese Western-style paintings by Kuroda Seiki, Kojima Torajiro, and others; Japanese-style paintings by Maruyama Okyo, Yokoyama Taikan, and others; Western copperplate prints and lithographs; and Japanese woodblock prints. The exhibition introduces expressions of white created by artists from East and West, past and present, using various materials and techniques with unique sensibilities. On specific days during the period, museum talks by curators will be held.
