Saza Town, a famous cherry blossom spot, began its 'Saza Millennium Sakura Village' project in 2004. About 1,500 cherry trees of 120 varieties bloom in the town, but among them is a grove of 50 weeping cherry trees, the only one of its kind in Nagasaki Prefecture. Even within Kyushu, it is rare to have this many in one place, and it is said to be the most hidden of hidden gems. The light pink of the cherry blossoms against the green of the surrounding mountains is so beautiful that it captures and holds the heart of all who see it.
