This exhibition is held as a result of the museum's research project "Survey of Ainu-related Materials in Catalonia, Spain." The project conducted literature research, interviews in Catalonia, and surveys of material locations, revealing that many Ainu cultural materials are held at the Barcelona Ethnology and World Cultures Museum and the Apel·les Fenosa Museum. 2025 marks the "Japan-Catalonia Exchange Year," and this exhibition is positioned as part of that program.
