Togyo-an was founded in 1884 (Meiji 17) as the memorial worship hall for Takasugi Shinsaku, a revolutionary of the Meiji Restoration. Cherry trees are planted around Togyo Pond, decorating the background of the Takasugi Togyo statue with spring colors. There are various varieties such as double-flowered Kirin cherry, red weeping cherry, and gyoiko cherry, so enjoy the beauty of each.
