Goishi Coast is a roughly 6 km stretch of coastline at the southeastern tip of the Massaki Peninsula in Ofunato City, Iwate. Its name comes from the rounded black stones resembling go game pieces. Known for dramatic scenery of unusual rock formations, caves, and sheer cliffs, it is designated as a national scenic spot, natural monument, and national park. About 100 Somei-yoshino and yaezakura trees line the path near the Goishi Coast Rest House, offering views of both sea and cherry blossoms.
