A special exhibition centered on Katsushika Hokusai and Utagawa Hiroshige, presenting approximately 220 outstanding ukiyo-e works collected by industrialist Hara Anzaburo. The rich world of Edo in the late Edo period is introduced through the works of both artists. Many works making their debut in this collection are displayed, including the Utagawa Hiroshige series 'Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji.' In addition to vibrant Edo-period prints that retain their beautiful indigo hues, the handpainted ukiyo-e section includes rare masterpieces such as former possessions of American collector William Bigelow.
