Sarasa Yoshioka (1977–), the sixth-generation head of Somenotsukasa Yoshioka, a dyeing workshop that has continued for over 200 years since the Edo period, makes her living by dyeing natural materials such as silk, hemp, cotton, and washi paper, drawing beautiful colors from plant dyes and the grasses, trees, and flowers that exist in nature, passed down since ancient times. This exhibition brings together works expressing the changing seasons, washi paper artificial flowers and gigaku costumes dedicated to old shrines and temples, and beautiful colors that can be added to modern life.
