One of the three major festivals in northern Miyazaki Prefecture, the Zatogami Festival at Yoshinomiya Shrine. A grand festival of Yoshinomiya Shrine which enshrines a blind monk who was killed by bandits more than 500 years ago. Held every year on March 28, the anniversary of the death, in memory of the blind monk 'Zato-san'. Zato-san is worshipped as the god of eyes and a god of prosperous business. Local women's associations sell udon and specialty products. There is also a performance by Satsuma biwa player Kanako Kitahara.
