One of Gunma's Three Great Plum Groves, Akima Plum Grove has over 60 years of history as a tourist plum grove. About 35,000 red and white plum trees bloom across roughly 500,000 square meters of vast hilly terrain. During the period, various events such as Japanese drum and shakuhachi performances, product fairs, and pottery experiences are held mainly on weekends. On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, the Akima Plum Grove Marche with kitchen cars and stalls is held, and on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings, BLOOMING LIGHT and plum grove illuminations envelop the park in fantastical light, sound, and imagery.
