At Honmyoji, a famous temple in Kumamoto Prefecture, the Hanatouro (Cherry Blossom Lantern Festival) is held every year on the last Saturday in March. In 2026, it will be held on March 28 (Sat) from 18:00 to 21:30. You can enjoy night cherry blossoms with about 8,000 lanterns lit in total, including about 3,000 along the approach to Honmyoji Temple and about 800 hung on cherry trees.
