The Suzuka no Mori Garden, a research cultivation farm for weeping plums, opens to the public with the aim of preserving and passing on the traditional Japanese pruning technique for weeping plums known as 'training technique.' About 200 famous plum trees, mainly the double-flowered pale pink Kureha weeping plum, bloom in splendor. During the period, illumination is held to coincide with the best viewing time of the Kureha weeping plums, allowing visitors to enjoy the mysterious world of weeping plums lit up like chandeliers. Best viewing is in early March.
