A park developed from part of the inner and second baileys of Koizumi Castle, built in 1489 during the Muromachi period. The cherry trees planted on both sides of the surrounding moat have one of the most prominent histories in the region, blooming gloriously in spring. The 'Jonouchi Park Cherry Blossom Festival' is scheduled to be held from late March to early April 2026 (dates TBD). During the festival period (planned), the park will be illuminated from sunset to 9 PM.
