Part of the former Nicchu Line route that connected Kitakata Station and Atsushio Station has been converted into a promenade, where approximately 1,000 weeping cherry trees (yaebeni-shidare and beni-shidare) bloom magnificently over about 3 km. A steam locomotive is displayed near the midpoint of the route, and both the combination with the weeping cherries and the cherry blossom tunnel are superb photography spots. This grand-scale cherry blossom avenue is unmatched elsewhere in Fukushima Prefecture.
