Mizukami Village in Kumamoto Prefecture is located at the source of the Kuma River, one of Japan's three fastest-flowing rivers. Ichifusa Dam was built to develop the Kuma River, and it is a scenic spot where you can feel the breath of the rich forest nurtured by the clear stream and the seasonal expressions of Mt. Ichifusa. In spring, cherry blossoms bloom along about 13 kilometers around Ichifusa Dam Lake. Known as the 'Ten Thousand Cherry Trees,' it is one of the most famous cherry blossom spots in Kumamoto Prefecture. On Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22, 2026, the 55th Yuyama Onsen Cherry Blossom Festival will be held.
