The 'Kamo Festival' is also known as the 'Wet Nurse Festival.' One of the deities enshrined at Aomi Shrine, Princess Tamayori-hime, is particularly venerated by women as a goddess of safe childbirth and child-rearing. During the Kamo Festival, young mothers dress their beloved children in colorful birth robes and participate in the divine procession to pray for their children's healthy growth. The divine procession sets out from Kamo Mountain at around 2 PM on the 21st. Also, from the afternoon of the previous day, approximately 100 stalls line the main street, adding to the festive atmosphere.
