With approximately 1,000 cherry trees of various species including Ezo-yamazakura, Somei-yoshino, Oshikozakura, Shidare-zakura, and Higan-zakura blooming in succession, visitors can enjoy cherry blossoms over an extended period. The grounds feature several massive cherry trees over 200 years old, the most famous being the Ishiwari-zakura — a tree that grew through a large rock. During the cherry blossom season, Usu Zenkoji welcomes visitors arriving by chartered bus from across the region.
