A temple said to have been founded by Gyoki Bodhisattva. Although it was once off-limits to women, when Kobo Daishi's mother came to the mountain, he performed 17 days of religious practices near the Niomon Gate for her sake, and the prohibition was lifted. His mother had her head shaved here, a statue was made depicting her image, and is enshrined as the principal image of Daishi-do. Beautiful cherry blossoms bloom from late March to early April annually.
