The main festival of Hiyoshi Taisha Shrine, affectionately known as 'Sanno-san,' unfolding over a long period of one and a half months. The biggest highlights are the sacred rituals on April 12, 13, and 14. On the 12th is the Uma-no-Shinji ritual; on the 13th, the Hanawatari-shiki ceremony and Yomiya-otoshi ritual; and on the 14th, the Grand Festival and the mikoshi procession to Lake Biwa (Funa-togyo procession by boat).
