Becoming a leading famous cherry blossom spot in the prefecture, with about 1,300 cherry trees including the oldest Somei Yoshino in Japan planted at the time of Asaka pioneering, the foundation of Koriyama's development carried out in early Meiji, blooming in profusion in the park, along with about 200 cherry trees at Kaiseiyama Daijingu. In the park, the 'Sakura Music Festival 2026' event is held from April 3 (Fri) to April 12 (Sun), 2026, 10:00-20:00 (3rd from evening, 12th until 19:00). Also, at Kaiseiyama Daijingu, the 'Kaiseiyama Cherry Blossom Festival' is planned to be held from March 28 (Sat) to April 23 (Thu), 2026, in line with cherry blossom blooming.
