A beautifully shaped single cherry tree of about 90 years old, planted in a pasture on the mountainside of the Minamiaso outer rim. It is called 'Kannon Sakura' because the Bato Kannon (Horse-headed Kannon) is enshrined nearby. With the Aso mountains as a backdrop and views of Mt. Takadake, Mt. Nakadake, and Mt. Eboshidake in the distance, it has a superb location.
