About a 1.5-kilometer cherry tree row stretching north from the Kengun terminus of the Kumamoto City Tram. Full-bloom cherry blossoms line both sides of the street. Usually, the best viewing time is from late March to early April, and many hanami visitors come. The Kengun Self-Defense Force Road Cherry Blossom Festival will be held on March 29 (Sun), 2026 from 11:00 to 16:30. About 300 meters will become a pedestrian-only zone (10:00–17:00 including setup and removal), allowing you to enjoy cherry blossoms without worrying about cars.
