This exhibition introduces the art of Fujita Tsuguharu (1886–1968), a leading painter of the École de Paris, using "photographs" as a keyword. It displays not only paintings but also self-portraits and portrait photographs, as well as carefully selected excellent works taken by Fujita Tsuguharu from photographic materials left in Japan and France. From three perspectives—"a painter made by paintings and photographs," "paintings made by photographs," and "photographs made by a painter"—it unravels the relationship between Fujita Tsuguharu, who utilized photographs in his painting production, and photography.
