A magnificent spring festival in Nanao, designated as a National Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property as the "Seihakusai Hikiyama Procession." Held in May when fresh leaves bloom, the massive hikiyama float stands 12 meters tall, weighs 20 tons, and has wheels 2 meters in diameter. The direction change with squealing wheels is one of the highlights. On the 4th, floats gather at Oonushi Shrine; on the 5th, at Noto Shokusai Ichiba and near Sendo Bridge. On the evening of the 2nd, a custom called "Ninkomi" takes place, displaying dolls for the hikiyama at homes with recent celebrations.
