Karatsu Castle, also known as Maizuru Castle, has Maizuru Park developed around the upper plaza of the main keep. Located in a rare seaside setting in Japan, Karatsu Castle offers magnificent scenery where the pink of cherry blossoms in full bloom contrasts beautifully with the blue of the sea. About 200 cherry trees bloom in profusion surrounding the castle, creating a scenic landscape full of Japanese atmosphere.
