At the "Sawara Hina Doll Tour," precious hina dolls passed down in each household, such as old hina dolls from the Edo and Meiji periods and goten-kazari (palace-style displays) with dolls placed inside buildings modeled after the imperial palace, are displayed in storefronts. Hina dolls are also displayed at nearby facilities such as the Ino Tadataka Memorial Museum and the Sawara Machinami Exchange Center, creating a spring atmosphere throughout the town. At the "Sawara Hina Boat Spring Festival," a procession of the Odairi-sama and Ohina-sama dressed in gorgeous hina costumes parades on the Ono River accompanied by the beautiful sounds of gagaku music.
